Claiming Your Optical Benefits

If your private health insurance includes Extras cover, you may be entitled to rebates on:

  • Prescription glasses

  • Prescription sunglasses

  • Contact lenses

The rebate amount depends on your level of cover. With HICAPS® on-the-spot claiming, we process your claim in store so your rebate is applied instantly.

Use It or Lose It!

Your health fund optical allowance can be used to update your look or purchase a spare or hobby pair.
Most health funds provide optical benefits on a 12 month cycle, typically January to December.
Unused benefits usually do not roll over to the next year, so use it, don’t lose it!
