BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment

Eyecare Plus Mermaid Beach Optometrists offer BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment, an advanced eyelid deep clean & exfoliation treatment on the Gold Coast. BlephEx helps treat Blepharitis, a common cause of Dry Eye.

What is BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment?
BlephEx, the most advanced treatment for blepharitis, is a in-office procedure performed by our optometrist. The treatment thoroughly and precisely eliminates the scurf and bacterial debris, the main causes of inflammatory eyelid disease. We can now take an active role in treating blepharitis and dry eye instead of simply relying on at home remedies.

What are the benefits of the BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment?
The BlephEx treatment works by deep cleaning and exfoliating blepharitis causing irritants, which in turn can reduce or eliminate the following symptoms: itching or scratchy eyes, foreign body sensation, tearing, crusting, redness/inflammation, dry eyes and eye rubbing. The treatment has positive benefits for eyelid health, vision and comfort.

What does the BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment involve?
BlephEx treatment is delivered by our optometrist. We use the BlephEx device to thoroughly deep clean and exfoliate the eyelid and eyelashes from scurf and bacterial debris.

How many BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment sessions do I need?
The treatment works by giving the eyelid and eyelash area a deep clean and exfoliation which removes scurf and bacterial debris which causes the blepharitis. Over time the scurf and bacterial debris will naturally return, for this reason the treatment must be regular to relieve blepharitis and dry eye symptoms. We typically advise monthly treatments until symptoms are adequately relieved.

When will I feel a difference after BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment?
Patients report an almost immediate relief from their symptoms after having the BlephEx treatment.

How long does the BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment last?
The treatment can last up to 6-12 months. We recommend patients to continue eyelid hygiene at home to help maintain the results.

How much does the BlephEx Blepharitis Treatment cost?
The BlephEx Treatment costs $120 per treatment.
