What is RF Dry Eye Treatment?
RF Dry Eye Treatment addresses the symptoms of dry eye disease caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). It is intended for use in the periorbital area and upper and lower lids, using controlled dermal heating to soften the oils blocking the meibomian glands and relieve inflammation. RF Dry Eye Treatment is used for the treatment of symptoms of Dry Eye Disease due to Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. How does the RF Dry Eye Treatment work?
The RF Dry Eye Treatment feels like a warm massage in the eye area, improving blood circulation. By directly treating the periorbital region and eyelids. The treatment can help you achieve more defined characteristics while alleviating other issues such as red, burning, itchy eyes. Heat is delivered during the procedure to ‘melt’ the oils clogging your glands, and pressure from the movement of the applicator allow for the oils to be expressed.
What does the RF Dry Eye Treatment involve?
The RF Dry Eye Treatment only takes a few minutes. The patient's eyes are covered with protective shields. Gel is applied to the lower eyelid. A wand is used to gently massage the top and lower lid.
How many RF Dry Eye Treatments do I need?
The protocol comprises of 4 initial treatment sessions. Your optometrist will re-assess your dry eyes 4 weeks post treatment and advise a plan for additional top up treatments to maintain your results.
When will I feel a difference after RF Dry Eye Treatment?
The treatment effects are cumulative and patients usually feel the effects after the first two treatments.
How long does the RF Eye Treatment last?
The treatment effects can last up to 3-12 months, however patients will require a re-treatment plan, typically between 3-12 months, depending on the severity of their dry eye disease.
How much does the RF Dry Eye Treatment cost?
The RF Dry Eye Treatment costs $500 per treatment, so the initial course of 4 treatments costs $2000.
