Learning doesn't stop when we leave university

Our optometrists Shaina and Jackson recently took part in hands-on dry eye training designed to give practitioners practical experience with different techniques used in dry eye care.

And that's important to us.

Technology and treatment options continue to develop, but having access to technology is only one part of providing good care. We also need to understand how to use it appropriately, which patients may benefit and how it fits into the bigger picture of their dry eye management.

Wet labs provide an opportunity to learn directly from other experienced practitioners, ask questions and practise techniques in a hands-on environment.

After events like these, the learning doesn't stay with the person who attended.

Shaina and Jackson bring their experiences back to the practice, where our optometry team can discuss what they learnt and how those insights might influence the care we provide.

It's one of the ways we continue to build knowledge across our whole team, rather than having expertise sit with only one practitioner.
