Growing the dry eye community across Australia

Our practice co-owner, Dr Shaina Zheng, recently travelled to Melbourne as part of her work with the Dry Eye Society, where she serves as Vice President.

The event brought together optometrists with an interest in dry eye disease to share knowledge, discuss advances in care and continue building a network of practitioners committed to helping people living with dry eye.

For Shaina, this is an important part of her work outside the practice.

Dry eye disease is incredibly common, but many people still don't realise that their optometrist can help. By bringing optometrists together, sharing knowledge and encouraging more practitioners to develop their skills in dry eye, we can collectively help more patients access appropriate care.

And while these events may happen outside the Gold Coast, the learning always comes back to our practice.

Our team regularly shares what we learn from conferences, professional meetings and other clinicians so that we can continue developing the dry eye care we provide here at Eyecare Plus Mermaid Beach.
